Nothing suits Neil Patrick Harris like a suit… AND empowering youth to enact social change in their communities. The actor has signed on to host WE Day California 2019 — a celebration for the thousands of young students in the L.A. area who have worked tirelessly over the past year to bring about positive change.

“I’m incredibly inspired by the accomplishments of today’s young people and their ambition to change the world for the better,” NPH said in a press release. “This new generation deserves to be celebrated for all the positive impactful change they are making and I’m very happy to be a part of the celebration by hosting WE Day California.”

JUST ANNOUNCED! Neil Patrick Harris will be hosting #WEday California 😎 It will be Legen – wait for it – dary!

A post shared by WE (@wemovement) on

WE Day California is always a star-studded affair and though the lineup of performers isn’t out just yet—stay tuned—last year featured the likes of Selena Gomez, Jennifer Aniston, Martin Sheen, Lilly Singh and Will Farrell so it’s safe to assume this year’s event will be attended by several of our faves. The April 25 show will be recorded and air as a one-hour special in August.

California is just one of the locations where WE hosts day-long celebrations of youth civic engagement at local and global levels. Started 12 years ago with one event in Toronto, WE Day has since expanded to 19 cities annually across North America, the United Kingdom and the Caribbean. Students and teachers “earn” their tickets to these events by doing good in their communities through the WE organization.
