If you didn’t run and out get microblading done upon discovering the ultra-fine brow tattooing trend last year, pat yourself on the back because there’s a new eyebrow technique in town, and it’s even more natural and possibly more beautiful than traditional microblading.
Don’t believe it? Check out microfeathering, an even more delicate technique that gives that “full but natural and still kinda messy” brow look.
Like microblading, microfeathering is achieved by making itty bitty tattoo strokes on the brows. But rather than using microblading’s template-like look, which gives wearers perfect arches and fills in thinning brows, microfeathering adds fewer, but more strategically placed tattoo eyebrow hairs. It takes a lot of patience, and a seriously light hand.
The results? Fluffier, fuller and more of that off-duty-model look. Like you just woke up and ran some clear gel through your brows for an oh-so effortless look.
Microfeathering is gaining popularity with the stars (surprise, surprise) with the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Mandy Moore and Adele all getting onboard. And it’s all thanks to LA-based cosmetic artist Kristie Streicher. Streicher is essentially the Queen of Brows in Hollywood and is responsible for coining this fresh new technique.
Right now, Streicher works strictly at her salon in Beverly Hills, so if you want this cool-girl brow look, you’ll have to book a long weekend in Los Angeles. But the results are epic, so it kind of feels worth it. Plus, how awesome would it be to say you and Gweny get your brows did at the same shop? Worth it.
