What have you been doing to pass the time in self-isolation? In New York City, people are taking to their rooftops, and one photographer has been documenting it all.
Jeremy Cohen's photos of people passing the time in a city on lockdown have gone viral. His photos and videos show New Yorkers dancing, exercising, working and even flying kites on their rooftops - and according to Jeremy, every time he looks out of his window, he sees something new.https://www.instagram.com/p/B-xLE-MDOuH/Jeremy says he's taken around 1,500 photos so far and posted some, along with video roundups, to Instagram and Tik Tok. One of his videos was viewed more than 3.1-million times.https://www.instagram.com/p/B-AhlR8jB1M/Jeremy's venture hasn't just revealed a unique perspective towards the city - it's also resulted in romance. In March, Jeremy went viral when he flew a drone with his phone number attached to a woman on a neighbouring rooftop. Since then, they've been on several dates, even enjoying a romantic dinner on their respective rooftops.https://www.instagram.com/p/B-Kl0RfD3Cz/https://www.instagram.com/p/B-Pj59zj36R/https://www.instagram.com/p/B_IM4oAjLV4/Jeremy says something that he has noticed about the rooftop culture is the positivity that has come out of this situation: “From afar – it’s easy to see the positives and there is a lot of optimism that’s coming out of the situation. People are creating and making stuff and enjoying the people they have around them. I plan on documenting the transition back to normality but I hope the rooftop culture remains.”https://www.instagram.com/p/B_fW-nGD_f4/For more of Jeremy's work, check out his Instagram
