Octopuses are creepy, slimy and frightening creatures (check this out if you don’t believe that to be true), but we’ve found ONE octopus species that’s so adorable, we just might venture out into the depths of the ocean to find them.
Not much is known about this rare cute blob of an octopus that’s still currently unclassified. Its nickname is “flapjack octopus” and Stephanie Bush, a marine biology researcher in California, is tasked with giving the cartoonish animal its actual scientific name. Want to take a guess as to what she wants to call it? Opisthotheusis Adorabilis. Yes, Adorabilis as in oh-so-adorable. Cute, right? It’s kind of like when Dory fell in love with a jellyfish in Finding Nemo and named it Squishy.
