Pittsburgh’s LGBT community was super bummed earlier this week when it looked like the city would be without a big name pop star to headline their annual Pittsburgh Pride celebration this Saturday. That is until Nick Jonas came to the rescue.

When Jonas heard that original headliner Iggy Azealea bailed on the event due to backlash over old homophobic tweets resurfacing, he was upset to learn that this left the city without a performer to help properly celebrate the day. Jonas personally reached out to Pittsburgh Pride organizers, the Delta Foundation, to offer his services.

According to Jonas, “When I heard about the difficult position Pittsburgh Pride was in just days before their event, I knew I had to find a way to help. I’m excited to do what I can to support the LGBT community in Pittsburgh, and I look forward to seeing you this Saturday as we celebrate together.”

What a great guy!

Make sure to catch Nick Jonas when he performs at the 2015 MMVAs Sunday, June 21 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on Much.
