We always hear about Suri, Tom Cruise‘s daughter with Katie Holmes, and the odd story is written about Connor, a.k.a. DJ Squared, his son with Nicole Kidman. But very little is said about Tom and Nic’s daughter, Isabella. With the exception of her marriage a year ago, all we know about Bella is that she and Connor aren’t really a prominent part of Nicole’s life.
After their parents divorced, they reportedly had no interest with staying their mom. Was it because there was a certain
“religion” religion involved? Allegedly. But considering how unaffected Bella and Connor have always appeared to be, they seem like they might have been better suited living with Nicole, her husband Keith Urban and their kids than with their world-travelling, movie-making, dad.
However the two became estranged from their mom, it looks like time really does heal all wounds. According to Woman’s Day magazine, Nicole and Bella had a long-awaited reunion in London, where Mom met her son-in-law, Max Parker, for the first time.
It’s been nearly a year since Isabella and Max were married — without either of their parents on the guest list.
“It was a very emotional moment for all of them, especially Nicole,” a source told the magazine. “It didn’t take long for her to burst into tears, and Bella soon followed.”
The source added: “Nic has been trying to build bridges with Bella since the start of the year,” adding that “Nicole took an instant liking to Max and could see that he and Bella get on really well.”
Finally, a nice story coming out of Cruise’s camp (though since it’s actually a Kidman story, that may be why). With Tom reportedly too busy to see Suri, one had to wonder if he makes time for his other kids. Back in the day, Nicole never seemed to have a choice in the matter and had to accept what came with life post-Tom, but you just know she would’ve been more involved.
Though both Connor and Bella have admitted more recently that they do keep in touch with Nicole, hopefully this is the start of a deepening relationship. At the very least, Tom and Nic can be proud of their kids, who seem to be two fairly normal individuals living fairly ordinary lives — despite who their parents are. And maybe, if they are spending any time in Nashville, we just don’t know it. That would be kind of awesome.
