Nicole Richie is getting a comedy series about her rapper alter ego

Nicole Richie? More like Nikki Fre$h.The American socialite, fashion designer, TV personality, and actress is set to turn—wait for it—rapper in the upcoming comedy series, Nikki Fre$h. Created for streaming service Quibi, the series will follow the 38-year-old as she embodies her rap star alter ego, who's set on launching a new genre of music called “Parent Trap.” We see what you did there, Nikki.Dropping fre$h, socially conscious, and educational rhymes, Richie Nikki Fre$h will interact with real-life wellness experts while coming up with over-the-top solutions to help people achieve better health, and a healthier planet. Richie’s husband, Joel Madden, and his twin, Benji Madden, will also collaborate on this project by overseeing the music on the series.

If you’re furrowing your brows in contemplation of how this ridiculous concept could ever pass as an entire series... you're certainly not alone. BUT, there is hope that Nikki Fre$h could turn into the wildly entertaining series you didn't know you needed.Over the years, Nicole Richie has proven to us that she does in fact have the comedic range. If you don’t remember all of the hilarious moments she had with Paris Hilton as they took on various jobs on The Simple Life (for real, they traded in their fancy cars for the Greyhound bus), then you might recall some of Richie’s moments on her 2015 reality TV show, Candidly Nicole. She's sarcastic, blunt, and dry—which might be exactly what this over-the-top concept needs. In terms of Richie’s rapping, we’re still on the fence when it comes to her freestyle. Case in point? This clip of Richie rapping about gummy worms. Here’s hoping Nikki Fre$h’s freestyle game is a bit better.
