Who killed Sam? What about Lila Standgard? Boy those feel like rookie questions now that we’ve got the first season of How to Get Away With Murder under our belts, doesn’t it? Now that the Viola Davis drama is back for Season 2 this Thursday, we have a whole slew of unanswered questions revolving around the Keating Five heading into the premiere.

And we really, really can’t wait for answers.

As a quick refresher — we know, it’s been a while! — we definitely recommend this three-minute catch-up video, which reminds us all about Annalise Keating (Davis), the five law students she chose as her lackeys, the fact that Wes (Alfred Enoch) killed Sam (Tom Verica), Frank (Charlie Weber) killed Lila (Megan West), and by the season finale, someone killed Rebecca (Katie Findlay). Oy.

And that brings us to our questions.

1. Who killed Rebecca?

Frank would be too easy, right? After all, Laurel (Karla Souza) did ask him to. Not even they guy who plays Frank thinks he did it.

“I do not think Frank killed Rebecca. I cannot answer that definitely, but I would be very surprised,” Weber says. “That would be too easy at this point. We need to spread the blood around a little bit.”

Our money is on Laurel. For now.

2. Who did Rebecca text?

We need to know what this means. Like really, really need to know what this means. Eggs? What?

ABC

3. What does Asher (Matt McGorry) actually know?

Because no one can be that dim, right? And he was one of the first people the prosecution questioned about Annalise. And then there’s the whole thing about how he’s sleeping with Bonnie (Liza Weil). That’s gotta get him thismuch closer to the truth of it all.

4. How much more is Nate (Billy Brown) going to put up with?

Dude. Annalise had you arrested. And then she had you beat up while you were in jail. Are you really going to trust this “lawyer” she had you call? REALLY?

“It was very difficult for her to ask Frank to plant Nate’s fingerprint on a ring and frame him,” Weber says in defence. “It was hard on her when she asked me to have him beat up in jail.”

Um… really?

5. How does Laurel factor into all of this?

That girl went to some super dark places by the finale. Hiding Michaela’s (Aja Naomi King) engagement ring to keep her quiet? Asking Frank to kill Rebecca? Of all the Keating Five, “the quiet one” sure has changed since we first met her.

“If she continues to get darker and darker, she and Frank will be able to definitely have some sort of common ground,” Weber says.

Sex and love are huge motivating factors, we suppose.

6. Will anyone be a good guy?

Apparently not.

“The thing about our show is that everybody is a bad guy. We’re all bad people living together, covering up murders and trying to exist in this world with each other,” Weber teases. “We’ll see how that plays out and what needs to happen and what does or doesn’t.”

7. Do these kids have other classes?

We know they’re busy getting away with murder and all, but there has to be some class time involved that isn’t with Annalise. Right?

8. Is Annalise Wes’s mom?

ABC

And if not why does she act like it? This is something that certainly could have been answered in the first season. And we need to know.

9. How many more questions will there be?

If we’ve learned one thing from this show, it’s that whenever we think we have one answer, several more present themselves. And we just have to deal.  The silver lining is that we don’t have to wait much longer to find out, since the show is finally back.

How to Get Away with Murder returns Thursday, Sept. 24 at 10 p.m. ET on CTV.
