Odin, a young boy from Peterborough, ON, turned 13 today (March 20) and no one – literally no one — RSVP’d to attended his birthday “hang out.” This is seriously heartbreaking, guys. Like we’re actually in tears, here.

But his amazing mom took matters into her own hands and turned to the internet for help, making her mom of the year.

According to the boy’s mom, Melissa Camus, Odin has Asperger’s and has difficulty making friends.

“I’m really struggling with finding a way to make today awesome for him, when it will be just us celebrating. My question is – can some of you perhaps text his schmancy new cell phone, and wish him a quick happy birthday? I want his thirteenth birthday to feel special, and like people care about him,” she said in a Facebook post.

Well, it turns out young Odin is getting a lot more than happy birthday texts. Camus’ request ended up going viral and now people from all over Canada and the world are sending well wishes and gifts Odin’s way. Even celebrities are in the mix, like Elijah Wood, George Stroumboulopoulos and the Toronto Blue Jays!

He’s been visited by Peterborough police officers:

And the Toronto Blue Jays:

And the love keeps on coming! Here’s a lovely note from the Toronto Raptors:

Everyone can appreciate this story, even politicians. Right, Justin Trudeau?

Some friendly Starbucks baristas wanted to make Odin’s special day very special, indeed:

A random Toronto duct cleaning company wished him a happy birthday on YouTube and offered him a $100 Walmart gift card:

And a band that just so happens to be performing in Burlington tonight says they’ll sing a special birthday song for him at the show:

Camus has even made a new event called ODINS THIRTEENTH BIRTHDAY!!!!, which basically invites anyone to join in on the birthday celebration fun at a local bowling alley in Peterborough. So far thousands of people have left adorable birthday comments for Odin to read and cherish for the rest of his life. What’s more, 1000 are confirmed to attend!

This is what the internet is all about.

Happy birthday Odin!

Update: Not only did hundreds of strangers flock to the bowling alley for Odin’s special day, the young sea cadet was surprised on television with a trip to Halifax. Why Halifax? Well, it’s so he can be made an honourary captain aboard a Royal Canadian Navy vessel! What a treat for such a sweet young man! And if that isn’t enough, there was coverage of his birthday in People, Time, the New York Daily News and Cosmopolitan. Move over, Kim Kardashian!

And his mother helped raise $2,660 for his birthday via a GoFundMe page she set up. Everything’s coming up Odin.
