Something weird is happening in New Jersey.

On Sunday, residents who looked out at the ocean saw something pretty terrifying. Looming out on the coastline was what appeared to be a massive tsunami barreling right towards them.

The good news is, no tsunami slammed into the city this weekend. So what the heck was that?

Turns out it was just a harmless cloud of condensation, albeit pretty apocalyptic looking.

The fog was created by warm, moisture-filled air passing over the still-cold Atlantic, causing the liquid to condense and produce the effect. It straddled the coastline for most of the day.
