Though only five-years-old, North West is no stranger to the world of fashion. Born to a business-mogul mother Kim Kardashian, and creative genius father, Kanye West, North has been rocking the best of the best brand name clothing since the moment she arrived into this world. When she was just 13 months, she even appeared in the 2014 Fall Issue of CR Fashion Book. So, it’s not at all surprising to hear that North is now one of the stars of Fendi’s second installment of the #MeAndMyPeekaboo campaign.
Highlighting the theme of family, the #MeAndMyPeekaboo campaign celebrates the 10 year anniversary of Fendi’s iconic Peekaboo bag. Above, we see grandmom Kris Jenner, mom Kim, and North lounging around a Malibu meadow and pool with their Peekaboo bags as dad Kanye’s “Love Lockdown” provides the soundtrack for the short film.
“The idea was to expand the concept of family, as it’s part of our history,” Silvia Venturini Fendi, the creative director for Fendi accessories, menswear and kidswear told WWD. “In the case of the Kardashians, they are all three of them very strong women, with strong personalities.”
Thanks to the ‘90s nostalgia that is currently dominating the fashion industry, there’s no denying that Fendi’s double “F” logo has made a comeback. Playing off the vintage trend, the campaign features some distinct Fendi accessories (check out Kim’s boots!) and adopts the look of an old family photo album.
“The bag passes the test of time — my daughters like it and my granddaughter asked me to hold one for her,” Venturini Fendi said. “It’s beyond fashion. I like things when they become timeless.”
We can imagine that this won’t be the last time we see young North in a fashion campaign. The question is––will she follow in the footsteps of her fashion designer father, Kanye? Will she take over the supermodel world like her aunt Kendall? Or will she go down a different route entirely? Only time will tell, but we’re placing our bets on North West, the supermodel.
