The phrase “Friendship Goals” gets thrown around pretty liberally these days, but it applies to no relationship better than that of former-President Barack Obama and his right-hand man and VP, Joe Biden. Jobama is the epitome of wholesome, beautiful friendship and we have been starved of their interactions for over a year. These two haven’t been seen out and about together (or much at all) since 2017, but they finally stepped out in Washington, DC yesterday for a mid-afternoon bite (known to us commoners as “lunch”).

Of course there’s video! Obama and Biden made an impromptu visit to the Dog Tag Bakery for ham sandwiches, a fennel salad and a piece of mint basil blueberry cake. Watching the two of them together again has cleansed our souls and cleared our skin. It’s filled our bank accounts and completely re-hydrated us. It’s made us believe in love again and that everything is going to be alright.

Hey, these moments are rare, and YES, we are going to be dramatic about it. Just look at these two.

And these two buds didn’t pick just any old bakery for their luncheon outing; the Dog Tag Bakery has a “living business school” program that employs and educates veterans, military spouses and military caregivers so they can earn money and a business certificate from Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies.

Dog Tag CEO Meghan Ogilvie shared that they found out the former POTUS was coming about “six minutes” before he and Biden arrived, and after the two grabbed their lunches, Obama spent 20 to 30 minutes asking the program fellows about their studies and future plans.

“They shook everyone’s hand,” she said, “They learned about them.”

You can probably imagine how thrilled the internet was to see these two besties at it again.

Oh, Obama-Biden, how we’ve missed you.
