The Obamas are taking a seriously well-deserved break after spending the last eight years dressed in suits and gowns, acting all profesh in the White House. Last week, we showed you exactly where the pair are vacationing — Richard Branson’s Necker Island, in case you need a refresher.
And on Branson’s $105,000-a-night island, there are no stiff suits for Barack and no perfectly pressed pencil skirts for Michelle in sight. The pair have not only traded their home in D.C. for the British Virgin Islands sun, but also left behind their prim and proper White House wardrobes. It’s all shorts and flip flops for these two, and you know what, this relaxed attire looks real good on them both.

First, let’s talk about how rad Barack looks in this baseball cap, turned BACKWARDS. Has there ever been a former president as cool as this!? He’s nailing this look like a pro.
And Michelle is onboard with the casual vibe, too, opting for shorts, sandals and an airy kimono-inspired top. She’s even got the beach hair down pat, styling her locks into a couple of braids. We love Michelle in custom Jason Wu creations, and it turns out we love her just as much in beachwear.

Our favourite reaction to the Omabas new look is this tweet about the direction of Barack’s hat. Is this a subtle nod to what’s happening back home, or just a style preference?

Hopefully the Obamas enjoy their last days of vacay, because something tells us that, once they arrive back on American soil, they’re going to be a lot less relaxed.
