Remember back in the summer when we told you about all of the Star Wars stand-alone films that are heading our way in the not-so-distant future? We mentioned that a Han Solo origin story would be the first of the bunch, and boy were we excited.

Today we learned that the list of actors being considered to play a young Han have been narrowed down, but we’re not really feeling over the moon about any of them.

According to Variety , one of these candidates will (probably) be announced as our new Han within the next couple weeks:

Miles Teller: Best known for playing Andrew Neiman in Whiplash and Mr. Fantastic in the recent, terrible Fantastic Four reboot.

Ansel Elgort: Best known for playing Augustus Waters in The Fault in Our Stars.

Dave Franco: Best known for playing Eric Molson in 21 Jump Street, Pete Regazolli in Neighbors (and for being James Franco‘s brother).

Jack Reynor: Best known for playing Richard Karlsen in What Richard Did and Shane Dyson in Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Scott Eastwood: Best known for playing Sergeant Miles in Fury and Luke Collins in The Longest Ride (and being Clint Eastwood‘s son).

Logan Lerman: Best known for playing Charlie Kelmeckies in The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Percy Jackson in the Percy Jackson franchise.

Emory Cohen: Best known for playing Tony Fiorello in Brooklyn.

Blake Jenner: Best known for playing Ryder Lynn in Glee.

If we HAD to pick our favourite from the bunch, it would probably be Scott Eastwood, since he kind of looks the part and his father was an on-screen bad ass. We think we can picture him filling Harrison Ford‘s iconic role. But the others? Not so much.

According to Han film writer Lawrence Kasdan, Disney wants to cast “someone who isn’t going to be exactly like Harrison [Ford], you want someone who suggests him. It’s like when you adapt a book … You don’t want to adapt it word for word, you want the essence to come through.”

We’re all for choosing a complete unknown, like Harrison Ford once was when he was cast as Han. It worked with casting Finn and Rey in Starwars: The Force Awakens, too!

Whichever actor gets cast will first make a cameo appearance as Han in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is currently shooting.
