It’s heeeeeeere! We previously counted the end of Halloween as the official kick-off to the holiday season, but over the years that honour has been passed onto the release of Oprah Winfrey’s annual list of her favourite things. What started as the most highly anticipated episode every year of her daily talk show has now evolved into a highly anticipated list on her website. From the outrageously decadent to the surprisingly affordable, the list has something for everyone. It’s a great place to get gift ideas for those in your life who are most difficult to buy for. It’s also where we like to find gifts for ourselves.
As is customary, Winfrey has penned a letter to her fans about the origins of her Favourite Things list, describing the joy of giving someone a gift they truly love. And if you’re wondering about Oprah’s favourite gift, it was given to her on her 64th birthday by a young girl at one of her schools in Africa. The gift is a box filled with pieces of paper listing 64 reasons the young girl loves Oprah. That’s lovely, especially for someone who can literally buy anything in the world.
For the rest of us, there are fuzzy socks, fancy popcorn and the latest tech gadgets. Homemade gifts are great too, but today it’s all about THE LIST. We’ve waded through all 107 items that made the cut and picked out the items we love the most. Tell Santa we’ve been good.
