Everybody raise their butter beers in celebration because today marks a very good day for muggles and wizards alike. A new preview of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has been released and we’re so happy we could produce a Patronus.
This trailer has everything. Eddie Redmayne giving very Eddie Redmayne-like looks. A big conflict between the magical and non-magical worlds. American versus English terminology for many of the sayings we now know and love thanks to the books. And more monsters than a Pokemon Go app.
Newt Scamander certainly didn’t write this movie (Ms. J.K. Rowling gets those honours), but this tale is all about the eventual author that the kids studied at Hogwarts, and his grand adventures in New York. And it looks freaking amazing.
All Harry Potter fans have to admit that nothing will ever be as good as the original books and movies, but we also know that this project is in good hands with Rowling. Plus if the trailer is any indication there are tons of Harry Potter touches to help settle us right back into that world. From the theme music to the costumes and the wands… even the cinematography and art is so reminiscent of the tale of the Boy Who Lived that it’s hard not to get excited.
Besides, most of us aren’t able to fly to England to watch The Cursed Child anytime soon, so this is all we’re going to get for now. And we will happily, happily take it. But why are we going on about it? Check out the trailer for yourselves above.
