It’s been a glorious 24-plus hours, thanks to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s engagement announcement, beautiful photocall and epic engagement interview. Their love is apparent, from the way they walked arm-in-arm around the grounds of Kensington Palace, to expanding on each other’s answers as they were interviewed by the BBC, to their stolen glances. You can almost see the hearts springing out of their eyes, it’s nearly too much to handle. But just when you think it couldn’t get any better, they up they ante.
The BBC released unaired, behind-the-scenes footage from their sit-down which took place on Monday, and it’s fantastic. Their mics may be off but they’re joking around, laughing, busting on each other. At one point, Meghan releases Harry’s hand long enough to rest her chin in her hand and gaze adoringly at him. It’s cute. They’re cute. Sigh. They’re freakin’ great.
The actual interview may have run the gamut, covering everything from the proposal and plans to start a family, to the ring and how the Queen’s corgis have taken to the soon-to-be-royal addition, but in all honesty, they didn’t need to say anything. Their interactions said it all. And this new footage only punctuated that, showing just how comfortable and relaxed and natural they are with one another. They couldn’t stop smiling and either can we.
During royal engagements, Duchess Kate and Duchess Camilla were separately asked about Harry and Meghan’s engagement. Kate’s response was typically professional, while Camilla’s was a little more bad-ass. More royal perfection.
