In today’s social-media-dominated landscape, the subtle pregnancy announcement is becoming a rarity. If you’re expecting, engaged, or pretty much anything, it’s basically standard practice to shout if from the rooftop of your social media of choice.

But one paraplegic man’s hilarious Instagram post has proven that just because it’s a common practice, doesn’t mean it needs to be an ordinary announcement. Check out the funny and heartwarming way this adorable couple let their network (and now the world) know that they’ll be adding to their family.

How cute is this? Self deprecation is a strong tool, and these two have wielded it expertly here with the literal writing on the wall. “It still works!” Also, we can’t get over his facial expression.

When former professional motocross racer Todd Krieg was paralyzed from the chest down in an accident, he was told that it would be almost impossible to have children. But, at a paralysis recovery centre in California, he met and fell in love with his sports therapist Amanda Diesen (a heartwarming tale in itself).

“Todd had a crush on me and called me the ‘cute therapist,’ and I found him so handsome but was so afraid to be unprofessional and hit on a client,” Diesen writes on Brides.

Now together, and much to the delight of the Internet, the couple were able to achieve the nearly impossible.

Here’s another celebratory post from his page:

It’s hard not to be over-the-top happy for this couple that #prayedforapenis. Diesen writes more about the experience of falling in love and defying the odds on the Brides website where you can vote for the couple to win a dream wedding.

“Todd and I are constantly cracking each other up. We think we are the funniest people we know (and it’s totally true),” Diesen writes.

They do seem to have this whole humour thing down pat. Their story is such an inspiration for couples everywhere. We hope the pair wins the wedding, and that their baby arrives healthy and happy. Congrats, you two!
