Thank goodness she’s finally obliged us! We’ve had enough of the speculation and the Duchess of Cambridge killing it whenever she has a sip of wine. Let’s rejoice: Kate is pregnant!
No, really. She and Prince William have officially announced (through British royal officials, of course) that they are expecting their second child. Prince George is going to have to share his toys and hand down some of his stuff to a baby brother or sister.
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child,” said the official announcement Monday morning. “The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.”
OK, almost everyone.
Unfortunately for Catherine, just as when she was carrying George, she is once again suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum. The first time was rough and she was hospitalized for four days; this time around, she is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace. But she did have to cancel a planned engagement in Oxford with Will to rest and receive medical care, reports the Associated Press.
Soooo, Kate is dealing with acute morning sickness in the early stages of her pregnancy just like with her first one. Anyone thinking what we’re thinking? She’s having another boy! Just us?
The new baby, who by our accounts will be born in April, will become fourth in line to the throne, shoving Prince Harry to fifth.
Royal officials didn’t say whether or not Kate’s upcoming trip to Malta (on September 20th and 21st) is still on. It’s her first overseas solo trip and she’s representing the Queen. So we think it’s safe to say, by hell or high morning sickness, she’s going. Whatever the case, congrats to the Cambridges!
