Pee-wee Herman is packing his bags and moving to Gotham City. And as it turns out, his son happens to be the town’s most sinister criminal mastermind.
During the Gotham panel at this weekend’s Comic Con in New York City, it was revealed that Paul Reubens, the man who played our beloved childhood pal Pee-wee Herman, has landed a role on CTV’s popular Batman origin show. He will be starring as Oswald “Penguin” Cobblepot’s dad.
The Penguin himself, actor Robin Lord Taylor, was overjoyed to make the announcement about his new on screen papa during the superhero fest.
Movie junkies will recognize that this marks the second time that Reubens has filled the role as The Penguin’s dad. He previously played the senior Cobblepot in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns back in 1992.
We just hope he brings his bow tie and sweet dance moves this time!
Be sure to catch Gotham, Mondays at 8pm ET/PT on CTV.
