When Timur the goat was pushed into Amur the tiger’s cage–as live bait–he wasn’t ready to die. In fact, he talked Amur down from devouring him, kicked Mr. Amur out of his own bed and began chillin’ there instead. This happened a few weeks ago, and not only have the two continued to cohabitate, they’ve basically become best buds.
According to the Siberian Times, who first broke the story, the goat and tiger are living together in the Far Eastern Safari Park in Shkotovsky, Russia. Workers at the park say they’re shocked by this unlikely duo and, while they don’t think Amur will harm Timur, they’ve still given each of them their own separate sleeping quarters.
According to the paper, the keepers let them frolic and eat together. They insist Timur is perfectly safe because he has had a calming psychological effect on tiger. Crazy, right? Watch the two of them spend time with each other in the video above.
