Would you kiss a stranger to show your love for a country even if it’s not your own country? That’s exactly what a bunch of European people did in response to the Brexit (aka Britain exiting the EU) referendum.

If you haven’t heard already, there are three days left before determining whether or not Britain will remain a part of the European Union. And although there’s a whole slew of reasons as to why Britain should separate or stay part of the EU, we’re more interested in the cross-country kissing going on.

People have been kissing strangers across major European cities in a massive kissing chain, we kid you not, to support Britain remaining a part of the EU.

“It’s a kissing chain that will start in Rome and will go through Paris and Berlin, and then to London, to show that the majority of Europeans are actually close to Great Britain in this moment of mourning for the death of Jo Cox, and we honestly hope that the UK will stay in Europe,” said Luca Nicotra, a participant of the kissing chain.

Over 420 people passed a kiss on, from one pair of lips to the next, in London alone. The person at the end of the kissing train in each country was able to pass it on to the next country by kissing someone through an iPad (and whether or not that counts as cheating, it’s pretty darn cute).

As written in the video, the kissing chain is meant to “fight hate with love,” which is enough a cause to melt any heart. If only we could fight all our wars with kissing chains.
