There’s something about Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik together that makes the world a better place. Flowers smell sweeter, the sun shines brighter, the sound of birds singing isn’t super-annoying. And it might be why people are hoping against all odds that Gigi and Zayn have reunited.

Now, before you start getting all excited, let’s just first state that there has been zero confirmation from neither Gigi nor Zayn that they are indeed back together. This is merely based on the dreams of those on the internet, who believe that when the supermodel tagged the singer’s mom, Trisha Malik, in a post on her Instagram Stories over the weekend, then that means Gigi and Zayn have reconnected. Because you don’t just go tagging your ex’s mom on social media for nothing, right? That’s the kind of move you make when you’re already (back?) in and part of the family.

Hadid was cooking, as she often does on her Stories, and the kitchen session featured one of Trish’s recipes. “Sunday in the kitchen: about to marinate the chicken for one of my favorites!!!,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. “@mammamalik’s Chicken Curry Pasta Salad. (Hopefully she’ll share the recipe with the world one day.)” No, really, can she because that sounds kind of amazing. Trisha not only shared Gigi’s story but also reportedly reposted a video of Hadid telling Vogue that her favourite restaurant in the world was “my boyfriend’s mom’s house.” And that simple interaction was enough to get Zigi fans all hyped and ready to celebrate.

Well, some more cautiously than others.

But here’s the “proof.”

One more piece of evidence, just because.

This one’s been a believer for a while now.

Hadid and Malik began dating in November 2015 and were together until March 2018, when they announced their breakup on social media. Gigi gave us hope then, writing, “As for the future, whatever’s meant to be will always be,” and if that meant a reunion between the two, so be it. They were spotted making out a month later, by June they were out and about again but by the beginning of 2019, they had called it quits once more.

Not so fast, though. They were spotted together over the next few months but by the summer, Gigi started seeing Bachelorette castoff Tyler Cameron, the first man other than Zayn to make an impression. That was until September, however, when they ended their brief romance, albeit on friendly terms.

Fast-forward to now and Gigi and Zayn are probably happening for the umpteenth time. They really can’t shake each other so why wouldn’t they give it another go? If they’re ready to risk getting whiplash from all the back and forth, we support ’em. Zigi forever!
