Australians Michael and Fran Perceval were having trouble selling their $2.04 million home. So much so, they decided to throw in Tiffany, their family cat, to sweeten the deal for a potential buyer.

You see, the interested buyer’s child had fallen in love with good ol’ Tiff and it turns out they were willing to pay big bucks for her. Once the cat was included, they offered $140,000 more than the asking price. How insane is that?

Much to the chagrin of their 19-year-old son, the Percevals agreed to this deal; citing that Tiffany would be most happy to stay in the home. Yeah, whatever helps them sleep at night, right?

Understandably, pet lovers are up in arms about this and are saying that poor Tiff got the raw end of the deal.

As one reader of the Melbourne’s Herald Sun said, “These people would probably sell their kid if offered enough. Your pet is your family. Obviously the dollar is more important to them.”

Yikes. Here’s hoping Tiffany adjusts to her new family quickly. They’re all she has now.
