Philanthropic kween Lizzo graces the cover of Marie Claire Brazil

Lizzo is continuing to be a popstar we stan in every possible way. Not only is the singer smashing records and cleaning up at awards shows, she’s also stunning on the cover of magazines and using her platform and her bank account to help others in need. Just this week, the “Truth Hurts” singer stunned on the cover of Marie Claire Brazil and made a huge donation to medical workers in hospitals across the US. Lizzo’s great when she gotta be great.Lizzo shared her new cover for Marie Claire Brazil on Tuesday, which has the singer-songwriter looking stunning in a glittering, metallic gown by Brazilian designer Rober Dognani. Showing off her Portuguese, Lizzo posted the cover on her Instagram and thanked the magazine, writing “Obrigado @marieclairebr for making me your covergirl lovergirl.” Lizzo’s gorgeous cover shoot received lots of love online, with fans and celebrities, including Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness, model Tess Holliday, designer Marc Jacobs, actor Yara Shahidi and singer Tamar Braxton, responding with positivity and lots of emojis.

The new magazine cover is just the latest milestone in a massive 2020 for Lizzo, which has included three Grammy wins, an NAACP Image Award for Entertainer of the Year and a worldwide tour, which Lizzo has been forced to halt in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. But the philanthropic artist is continuing to help those in need even while remaining at home in quarantine. The singer has already been leading meditation sessions on Instagram to help fans find some moments of peace during this anxiety-ridden time in history. Now Lizzo is focusing her efforts on healthcare workers. Earlier this week, Lizzo selected several hospitals across the US to receive hundreds of meals for the staff who have been working tirelessly to treat patients and help contain the spread of Coronavirus.[video_embed id='-1']RELATED: Lizzo's had a wild year and she's just getting started[/video_embed]Lizzo shared a short video on her Instagram showing some of the deserving hospital staff enjoying their free lunch courtesy of the “Juice” singer. Many staff members happily posed with signs thanking Lizzo for her donation, which also helped provide jobs to local restaurants who are struggling amid government orders for people to stay home. Lizzo also included a link to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization, encouraging her followers to donate if possible.

Not shown in the video was the personalized message that Lizzo sent each hospital. Henry Ford Hospital, located in Lizzo’s hometown of Detroit, shared the singer’s heartfelt message to the staff. "I really hope you guys enjoy the food, we did everything we could to keep it safe for you all, lunch is on me," says Lizzo in the clip.

Lizzo also sent lunch to the workers at UW Medicine in Washington, calling the staff ‘heroes.’ “I hope you feel loved and appreciated, because you really, truly are,” said Lizzo.

This isn’t the first time Lizzo has responded to a massive crisis in a big way. In January, Lizzo was touring Australia as the devastating wildfires continued to destroy massive parts of the outback and populated areas. Lizzo visited a local foodbank while in Australia to help pack hampers that would be delivered to those in need, while also encouraging her fans at her live shows and online to donate food and money.
