Dogs make people happy, it’s just a fact. Stepping out of the hair salon with a fresh new cut can make you feel pretty good too. So what do you get when you combine those two things? You’re about to find out. Photographer Grace Chon took before and after photos of dogs getting haircuts and the results are just too cute.

Chon’s photos are for a project entitled “Hairy,” which is a combination of all the photographer’s favourite things — capturing a dog’s personality and emotional worlds, and just “really really freaking adorable things.”

“So I think that we all can know what it feels like to get a really awesome haircut,” says Chon. “You know, it feels amazing, it feels good! And we all love a great before and after story.” Basically, Chon wants to capture how good the haircut feels for the dog. And from the looks of it, it feels pretty darn good.

Chon is planning to publish a book on the transformations in October 2018, but if you can’t wait until then, her current book Waggish: Dogs Smiling For No Reason should satiate your need for cute dog pics. In the meantime, we’ll also leave you with these:
