Doing it the 'old-fashioned' way.

When we think of real-life celebrity female friendships that give us life, Pink and Kelly Clarkson are definitely on that list (no offense, Michelle and Busy). Although the singers both had pretty different claims to fame in their younger days, they’ve each defied the music industry in their own, unique ways. And now they’re ready to tackle another taboo Hollywood subject together: aging. We wanted to raise our glass for Pink on Monday when she wrote an affirming letter to herself on Twitter about aging, plastic surgery, and why she’s just going to do her in the near future. At 40-years-old the “So What” singer has started noticing some changes to her body, and like any of us it’s made her question herself a time or two.“Dear me, you’re getting older. I see lines. Especially when you smile,” she began. “Your nose is getting bigger. You look (and feel) weird as you get used to this new reality. But your nose looks like your kids’, and your face wrinkles where you laugh. And yeah you idiot… you smoked.”[video_embed id='1729894']RELATED: Pink responds to trolls calling out her parenting choices[/video_embed]Pink then goes on to admit that she’s considered altering her face, but in the end she just can’t get behind becoming a person whose emotions are masked all of the time because of said surgery. She wants her kids to know what she looks like when she’s angry, for starters. And even more than that, she wants her kids to know that self-worth is about so much more than looks—no matter what your age. As it turns out Clarkson was just as motivated as the rest of us by that show of proud female force, because she also took to Twitter to get in on the anti-anti-aging party.“I feel you… except for, you know, the flying through the air thing,” Clarkson responded. “You know what, I’ll keep holding it down on the ground for us and you keep the air safe. I’ve always enjoyed teamwork.”We’ve gotta say that we feel Clarkson, because taking to the sky in a tutu (or, at all) sounds pretty unnerving for us, too. But we appreciate that it’s Pink’s thing anyhow, because if you’ve ever been to one of her live shows you know just how spectacular it is. We’re all for this solidarity, especially since we’ve been pining for more Clarkson-Pink awesomeness ever since they performed together at the 2017 American Music Awards. “This woman has a direct line to outer space with that voice. I feel lucky to stand next to her when she sings. Tonight will be honour for me,” Pink said at the time. The feeling is definitely mutual; Clarkson has spoken in the past about her admiration for the singer and even covered “What About Us” during the “Kellyoke” segment of her new daytime talk show. Sadly, it doesn’t look like the pair will be teaming up again for a performance anytime soon now that The Kelly Clarkson Show has been renewed for a second season. But we’re definitely holding out hope that Pink will stop by as a guest star to talk about (and maybe even sing about!) all the things.Including this “brand new” aging strategy, of course.[video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: Girl singing like she is alone gets quite a surprise[/video_embed]
