Congratulations are in order for Adam Devine and Chloe Bridges! The actors announced their engagement on Thursday after four years of dating, revealing that Devine popped the question earlier this week. The couple first met while filming the horror film The Final Girls in 2014 and began dating the next year. Bridges and Devine have acted opposite one another several times, including the films Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates and Game Over, Man!, which Devine wrote and starred in along with his Workaholics co-creators Blake Anderson and Anders Holm.Often appearing together on the red carpet and posting snaps of one another on social media, Bridges and Devine both announced their engagement with separate but equally heartfelt and emotional Instagram posts. "She said yes! Well actually she said "ahh Adam" and then kissed me but I’m pretty sure that means YES,” wrote The Right Gemstones actor. “I love Chloe more than anything and I’m so excited to spend the rest of my life with her amazing self."
The Isn’t It Romantic? star added that he initially proposed last weekend, but the pair wanted to keep their news private for a few days before making the announcement. “Have fun planning the wedding. I’ll be there for the cake tasting,” joked Devine. The actor received well wishes on his Insta post from his Pitch Perfect castmates Elizabeth Banks, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow, as well as his Jexi co-star Alexandra Shipp, who wrote “Ugh I love you guys so f***** much congratulations next rounds on me.”Devine’s Modern Family co-star Sarah Hyland, who also recently got engaged, shared her excitement on the news, writing “F****** FINALLY!!!!!!! IM FREAKING OUT!!!!!”Bridges also uploaded her own Instagram album of the couple on a boat showing off her new engagement ring and gushed about her future husband. “I love this man with my whole heart and I am so excited to be with him forever. I’ve known we had a special connection since we first met (well FIRST I liked the way his butt looked in his jeans and the way he made me laugh and the fact that his backpack was monogrammed which seemed VERY adult to me five years ago) and I quickly learned that he is the kindest, funniest, most incredible man I’ve ever met,” wrote Bridges. “I’m so proud to be his girl and will be even prouder to be his wife.”Devine joked about getting engaged last year with TMZ, realizing after returning from a romantic trip through Europe with Bridges that she was probably expecting a proposal then. The comedian has also talked about his girlfriend on stage, admitting publicly in his 2019 stand up special Best Time Of Our Lives that the pair were dating … and had been for four years. We assume that the comedian will soon have a wealth of new material for his next special—and can't for his take on that newlywed life.
