Any pet owner knows there are times when your animal companion manages to get under your skin. But at least with dogs and cats, your pet can’t actually talk back to you. One man in Brighton, Ont. didn’t have that luxury though, and the result was pretty hilarious.
Police were called to a home around 8 p.m. last week after neighbours overheard yelling and believed there was a domestic dispute going on. When officers arrived, however, they were confused when they noticed only one person in the apartment.
“They heard him yelling and saying, ‘I hope you die,’ and so on and so forth,” Northumberland OPP Const. Steve Bates told the Canadian Press. “So we attended and we located the male of the household alone in the house screaming at his pet parrot who apparently was ‘beaking off’ at him, in his words.”
Officers say the parrot did not appear to be hurt in any way, and no charges were laid.
But we have to admit, we’re really interested to know what it was the parrot said that got so under his skin.
