As you know, a lot of drama goes down in Springfield. Whether it’s Nelson running around town bullying anyone that’s smaller than him, Mr. Burns trying to execute a diabolical plan or the Nuclear Power Plant that’s on the verge of exploding thanks to Homer’s negligence, there’s always a news story that’s just waiting to be covered.

Now, Springfield is obviously the fictional town in The Simpsons, but one fan of the show wanted to bring it all to life by trolling his local news station. An Australian named Andrew Schwebel sent a fake news tip based off The Simpsons to 7 News Australia.

He found it hilarious enough to forward the conversation to Four Finger Discount (a Simpsons podcast), who in turn posted it on their Facebook page. It obviously blew up and the trolling has since snowballed into an international Simpsons troll-fest.
