It’s the interview we’ve all been waiting for. As Prince Harry’s Invictus Games hit Toronto this September, we get to hear him — and see him — in an exclusive one-on-one with a trusty Canadian. No, not Drake; rather, serious journalist and CTV News‘ chief anchor, Lisa LaFlamme. And while they didn’t chat during one of his jaunts to Toronto to see girlfriend Meghan Markle, he invited LaFlamme to Kensington Palace for the interview. Because he’s a gentleman like that.
The interview is for a one-hour special, Prince Harry: Journey to Invictus, airing on Friday on CTV, but we’ll get glimpses of their extensive sit-down on Wednesday night’s edition of CTV National News.
Harry takes LaFlamme inside Kensington Palace, and around the grounds, where he reflects on his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, and how she continues to inspire him and the world. The prince also discusses his time in the military, how it led to his establishment of the Invictus Games, which he created to support veterans and pay tribute to injured, wounded and sick servicemen and women. What he likely won’t be chatting about is Megs. Sigh. Guess this will have to do.
With three months until the Invictus Games hits Toronto, this sneak peek — and Friday’s special — will have to do. We’re counting down the days until September, when he’ll hit the town. And, hey, if he’s got his girlfriend by his side, we’ll consider that a bonus.
Portions of the exclusive interview with Prince Harry will air on CTV National News tonight. The full one-hour special Prince Harry: Journey to Invictus airs Friday night at 9 p.m. ET.
