Five-year-old Jax was in need of a haircut and not just any haircut would do. The pre-K student insisted that he wanted a buzz cut like his school friend, Reddy Weldon.

The reason he wanted a similar haircut?  So that he could trick their teacher, Ms. April, into mixing up their identities.

Thinking the idea was hilarious; Jax’s mother, Lydia Stith Rosebush, took to Facebook to explain the situation.

To her surprise, the post went viral. Why, you ask? Well, Jax is white and Reddy is black.

The post received a lot of praise, with people around the world talking about the innocence of children, and how adults could learn from Jax.

This Tuesday, Jax got his wish. He got the buzz haircut he dreamed of.

Naturally, the next step for Jax was to put his plan to confuse Ms. April in motion the following day.

How’d the plan work out for the young mastermind? Ms. April played along, of course!
