With Prince George’s birthday less than a week away, expect to see a couple of pics from Prince William and Duchess Kate before July 22nd. Until then, let’s envision the big birthday bash being planned for him to mark his sixth year.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have gone all out to organize a birthday party for George,” an insider told Us Weekly. The source added that while Kate “has done most of the organizing herself,” William lent a hand as well. According to Us, it’s all set to take place at Kensington Palace and the guests will include his closest school chums, his siblings, Prince Charlotte and Prince Louis, and we can only presume some royal cousins may make an appearance as well. Because with Louis only being 13 months old, he’ll need another little one to keep him company and his cousin, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s son, Archie, fits the bill.

There doesn’t appear to be a theme happening (superheroes, Star Wars, Transformers, Disney anything, be damned!), but instead will be jam-packed with all kinds of entertainment from a bouncy castle (within a palace, how cool is that?) to a magician, which might be what George is looking forward to the most. “George loves magic,” the insider added, revealing that it was William’s brilliant idea to have a magic show for the kids. And the parents. Because who doesn’t love a little magic in their life? As for the food, Kate hired caterers to provide all of George’s favourite foods, so pizza, pasta and sliders, along with sweet treats like cupcakes, candy and ice cream. And the birthday boy’s cake, of course.

It was nearly three years ago that William, Kate, George and Charlotte attended a children’s party in Victoria during their Royal Tour of Canada. We saw just how enthralled George was by a man making balloon animals; we can only imagine the glee on his face when there’s real magic going on before his adorable eyes.

For George’s fifth birthday, his official birthday portrait was taken by photographer Matt Porteous in the garden at Clarence House following Louis’ christening. For Charlotte and Louis’ birthdays this year, however, Kate gets the cred for the photos, so perhaps they’re going to keep it casual again and let Mom do the picture-taking.
