Happy birthday, George

Prince George is officially six years old today, July 22, but the royal dude’s mom, Duchess Kate, gave us a sneak peek into just how ecstatic her eldest son (and the future king) was leading up to the big day. Unlike past birthday portraits, Kate took these shots herself, and no offence to the previous royal photographers but we think we like Kate’s pics best.

How glorious, right? It almost feels like it’s our birthday too. The two pics of the six-year-old wearing an England football jersey and flashing that toothy-yet-toothless grin were taken at the gardens of Kensington Palace, while the photo of George looking dapper in a green polo shirt and pinstriped bottoms was taken during a holiday. It wasn’t specified which holiday, so we’re not entirely sure what the backdrop is, but the family is currently on their annual vacation in Mustique.

Whatever the setting, George is clearly a happy kid. Consider our hearts stolen once again.

Also, George is probably the Queen’s favourite

It may be George’s sixth birthday, but if he was staying over at his great-grandmother’s palace he might not know the difference because he’s used to getting gifts from the Queen. According to The Sun, Her Majesty “goes out of her way to spend time with young George,” and even “takes time to select little presents that she leaves at the foot of [his] bed every time he stays over.” Hmm, wonder if the other great-grandkids get the same royal treatment?

Sure, George is third in line to the throne but the six-year-old has “endeared himself” to his great-grandmum by selecting her nickname — Gan-Gan — for her. Amazing! More George and Gan-Gan, please!

Selena Gomez was maid of honour at her cousin’s wedding and looked gorgeous, of course

Selena Gomez has been keeping a low profile as of late but she stepped out on Saturday for her cousin Priscilla DeLeon’s wedding in Texas. And Selena wasn’t just a guest, she was the maid of honour — which meant besides being by Priscilla’s side, she also gave a lovely speech to her cuz and the groom, Jay Cosme.

Naturally, Gomez didn’t post anything from the wedding but others did and were more than happy to share.

Camila Cabello opens up about anxiety in a candid Instagram post

Though she may look naturally confident on stage, our girl Camila says that wasn’t always the case. In fact, she shared not one, but two Instagram posts talking about how as a child, she was not always performance-ready. In fact, she used to be painfully shy.

“I sang in my room when my parents left for Walmart and cried when one day I saw them filming me through the crack of the door, I got teary eyed when people sang happy birthday to me because people looking at me actually made me overwhelmed,” the singer wrote.

I remember growing up hearing stories of the singers I loved, all the stories sounded the same, kids who would grow up performing for their families and putting on talent shows for their parents when they were little who grew up to be dazzling to me. I was the opposite, I never ever sang in front of my parents or friends and would get flustered when they would ask me to, I sang in my room when my parents left for Walmart and cried when one day I saw them filming me through the crack of the door, I got teary eyed when people sang happy birthday to me because people looking at me actually made me overwhelmed. I was generally incredibly nervous and socially anxious when I was little; and people always have this look of disbelief when I tell them that. I did an interview the other day where I got it again, the interviewer said something along the lines of “So… how’d you end up here?” The answer is, I feel like my whole life there’s been two Camila’s in me. There’s little Camila that is terrified of the unknown, is aware of all the ways everything can go wrong, (actually can picture them vividly lol), and thinks it’s safer to stay home than to play ball. Then there’s the other Camila. And she knows what she wants out of life, is aware of how little time I have to let little Camila run the show while time passes by, and grabs young me by the hand and forces her out the door saying “Let’s go. You’ll survive, and I’m not gonna miss out on this. Let’s go.” And that is literally how I can sum up how I’ve gotten to this point in my life. (I’m talking about as a person, not success.) remember feeling discouraged when I felt like some people were just “born” to do things. That they always had it in them. “They were always this outgoing, they always loved to entertain, they were always this bold, they were always this outspoken.” (…..continue)

“I was generally incredibly nervous and socially anxious when I was little; and people always have this look of disbelief when I tell them that,” she continued. More importantly, she noted that being anxious doesn’t have to stop you from going after your dreams and doing what you love. “I went from never wanting to sing in front of my family to being addicted to performing, from being too anxious to hang out with new people to… still being a little anxious but having THE BEST time and making irreplaceable memories. ”

(part 2..) The truth is you decide who you’re going to be. Every day. I’m not talking about talent or success. I just mean the type of person you’re going to be. If you haven’t been very brave, or very social, or wild, or an adventure seeker, if you describe yourself as the opposite of those things… it doesn’t mean you can’t be. The other you needs to grab little you by the hand, yank you by the hairs and tell you, “Let’s go.” Little me hasn’t left. I just don’t let her boss me around as much. I felt like sharing because I think sometimes we see other people do things and think “Ah, well.. that’s just not me. I’ve never been like that.” It’s NOT TRUE. I’m telling you. I went from never wanting to sing in front of my family to being addicted to performing, from being too anxious to hang out with new people to… still being a little anxious but having THE BEST time and making irreplaceable memories. The essence of me is the same, but i’ve changed so much as a person. You choose who you’re going to be. Force yourself to do what you’re afraid of, always- and go after what you want and who you want to be, because you’re worth that. You’re worth the fight. It’s the most worthwhile one there is. Love you ❤️

Here’s why Lenny Kravitz and Jason Momoa are so damn cool with each other

It’s not always easy to develop a friendship with your ex’s new partner but for Lenny Kravitz, ex-wife Lisa Bonet and her new husband, Jason Momoa, they did it for the good of everyone.

“You go through a marriage with somebody, you break up and it’s very difficult,” Kravitz told The Times in an interview published on Saturday. “But [Lisa and I] put the work in and we took the time so that we could become best friends again. Our families are blended.”

He continued: “I love her husband — he’s like a brother to me — and I love the kids. It’s beautiful, but it takes work.” Because that’s what you do for family.

The two men have always appeared friendly, and the whole fam was in Paris last month to witness Lenny and Lisa’s daughter, Zoe, get married. But it’s not just about their blended family; sometimes it’s just about the two men, whether they’re supporting each other’s work…
