After 11 days apart and a formal separation of royal duties, Prince Harry has finally reunited with wife Meghan Markle and their son Archie. The prince was spotted landing in Vancouver Island late Tuesday night, ‘desperate’ to see his family after such a long time away.Page Six published photos of Prince Harry smiling as he exited a West Jet flight (such a Canadian!) on Tuesday, having been joined by two royal protection officers during his journey in-air. Three more officers greeted Harry when he got off the plane. The group took a three-car convoy to the home that Harry and Meghan are currently staying in during their time in Canada. According to Page Six, the officers with Harry are still being paid with money from the British taxpayers, but the future of Meghan and Harry’s security detail, namely who will be paying for the estimated $10 million annual expenditure, remains unclear.Meghan and Archie have spent the past week and a half living in Mille Fleurs, a $14 million Vancouver mansion where the couple spent Christmas with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland. The pair left baby Archie in Canada after the holidays and returned to the UK to make the announcement that they would be living separately from the Royal Family. Meghan returned to Canada soon after and has been spotted around Vancouver Island running errands and taking Archie and their dogs for walks at a local park. Markle has also been busy volunteering at a local women’s shelter where she met with the organization’s co-chair.[video_embed id='1881360']Prince Harry reunites with Meghan and Archie in B.C.[/video_embed]On Saturday, the Queen and Buckingham Palace both made announcements about the future of Harry and Meghan’s involvement in the Royal Family. The couple initially hoped to live separate lives from the royals while still fulfilling their duties as members of the Royal Family, but that proved to be impossible. “As agreed in this new arrangement, they understand that they are required to step back from Royal duties, including official military appointments. They will no longer receive public funds for Royal duties,” the announcement from Buckingham Palace read, adding that Harry and Meghan are no longer formal representatives of the Queen, but that “the Sussexes have made clear that everything they do will continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty.”Starting in the spring, Harry and Meghan will be known as Harry, Duke of Sussex and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. Because Harry and Meghan hope to sign commercial deals outside of royal duties in the future, the pair are no longer allowed to use their titles. On Sunday, Harry spoke at a private dinner in London for his Sentebale charity and said that his decision to separate from the Royal Family was not taken lightly. “Once Meghan and I were married, we were excited, we were hopeful, and we were here to serve,” said Harry. “For these reasons, it brings me great sadness that it has come to this.”Prince Harry is expected to return to the UK in the spring for formal engagements before his royal duties officially come to an end.[video_embed id='1871834']Harry and Meghan's news met with harsh reactions from various news outlets[/video_embed]
