The Cambridges may have shown off their Christmas card last week but Prince Harry likes to keep us in suspense. With only three days left until the big day, Harry debuted this year’s card and let’s just say it was worth the wait. Because not only is he in uniform and the ginger beard is ever-present — swoon! — but he’s also holding the hand of a very special person.
The black-and-white photo shows Harry in all his handsome, hairy glory with Tom Neil, a 95-year-old Battle of Britain veteran. Harry is standing while Neil is seated in an airplane holding each other’s hand. It’s a beautiful thing, though perhaps we’re distracted by Harry’s zip-up coveralls.

The two met on Sept. 15, Harry’s birthday, when the prince made an appearance at the 75th anniversary commemoration of the battle victory. Captain
Harry Wales was scheduled to fly that day alongside vets and wounded servicemen but he elected to forfeit his seat to Neil. And Harry held on to Tom’s walking stick and took pictures while the bad-ass vet soared in the air.
At the time, Harry said that meeting Neil was a great honour and called it one of his most memorable moments of 2015. And we couldn’t agree more.
