If you thought Prince Harry‘s ex-girlfriend, Cressida Bonas, was going to slink away never to be heard from again, you were wrong. Very, very wrong. On the contrary, Cressie is going to use whatever fame she got being a royal gal pal and transform it into a full-fledged acting career. See, future Harry exes, there is life after the royal ginger!
There’s a new movie from the Weinstein Company coming out this year called Tulip Fever. And it’s stacked with stars, from Dame Judi Dench and Christoph Waltz, to Dane DeHaan and Jack O’Connell, to Kevin McKidd, Matthew Morrison and Cara Delevingne. Bonas also has a small part in the film and Harvey Weinstein had nothing but words that will get you everywhere when it came to her.
“Cressida is great and people will see what a fantastic actress she is,” he gushed to the Daily Mail before predicting, “It will be the first of many roles for her.”
She’s beautiful and young enough, 25, to start a new career. So why wouldn’t Downton Abbey be next on her list? Cressida reportedly met with Downton creator Julian Fellowes, who was said to be “hugely impressed” with her.
“Cressida is trying to break into Hollywood and knows a Downton role would do wonders for her profile, not only in the UK but also the US,” a source told the Daily Star. “She met Julian in the run-up to the Golden Globes. While it was a very informal chat, Julian was said to be hugely impressed with her. He even promised to set up a meeting with the show’s casting director in the UK to talk about a possible cameo in the next season, which may lead to a more permanent role.”
Who knows if Cressida can even act, but she certainly has the look for Downton Abbey, no? Hmm, who would she play? Some high society friend girl? Maybe the new kitchen maid? Or will that be too hard for the aspiring actress to pull off? Perhaps Bonas needs to stay upstairs where she’ll more or less be playing herself.
