For one magical evening, Hollywood A-listers and legit royals occupy the same space in the name of film and the occasion is the British Academy Film Awards.
Technically, the party began on Saturday night at the Nominees Party, which was held at Kensington Palace and one of the favourites, Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek, took the words right out of our mouth.

The BAFTA Awards honour nominees for their outstanding contribution to film and as in years past, Prince William, the president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, presented the BAFTA Fellowship. The 2019 recipient of the lifetime achievement award is editor Thelma Schoonmaker who might not be a household name but let's just say that the longtime collaborator of one Martin Scorsese, who has worked with him on 22 of his movies, couldn't deserve it more.
But royal fans were in for an extra-special treat because for the third time, Duchess Kate accompanied her husband. She joined him for the first time in 2017, and again last year when she was pregnant was Prince Louis. This year, Kate's glowing for an entirely different reason: she and Will got to escape the palace for the night, away from the kids and enjoy a fancy date night out.
After dozens of celebs walked the carpet and did their interviews, security shut it down so Will and Kate could do their thing. They were fashionably late, but well worth it.
Speaking of fashion, they certainly looked the part as they sashayed (OK, briskly walked because of the chilly England air) down the red carpet outside Royal Albert Hall in their glamorous duds. And glamorous puts it mildly. Will dusted off his tuxedo, looking dapper as per usual. But Kate, who wore her hair up to show off the stunning one-shoulder white Alexander McQueen gown with floral embellishments, was positively angelic and among our list of best dressed. No repeats here! We would remember this look.
As the Cambridges took their seats in the front row, beside BAFTA CEO Amanda Berry—if you were wondering who was leading the royal couple around, now you know—you may have noticed a stunning silence. We're all for decorum but the fact that the only real sound was camera flashes doesn't exactly say, "Let's hand out some awards!"
Luckily, they still did and The Favourite had a big night. Get the list full list of winners here.awardsBAFTAkate middletonprince williamroyalstrending
