If there was ever any doubt that Duchess Kate’s first daughter would be just as much a style icon as her mum, this should probably quash it. The Charlotte Effect has begun, in the form of a lipstick.
That’s right, Marc Jacobs has just unveiled a brand new Princess Charlotte lipstick, perhaps so young women can get that recently-been-birthed glow on their lips? We mean, she is just nine months old and all. She’s been out of this womb for as long as she was in it at this point.
Regardless, a new bright pink hue has indeed been named after the princess, just in time for Valentine’s Day. It retails for $48 a stick and it’s exclusively sold at Harrods in London. That said, Harrods delivers.
She’s definitely following in the footsteps of her mom. Just think about it: young women the world over run out to get rid of bangs or pick out a new maternity wardrobe, because they are inspired – at least in part – by Kate. It’s called the Kate Effect, and it’s so real. So, it makes sense that Charlotte would follow her mother (and her brother, George).
We know the Princess isn’t really old enough to wear lipstick, but, hey, an honour is an honour. And Marc Jacobs certainly only aligns his brand with the most worthy of muses. And hey, maybe one day Charlotte will even be old enough to endorse one of these products herself.
For now, we’ll just take what we can get.
