This year is proving to be a pretty big one for the Royal Family. Not only are we oh-so-eagerly anticipating Meghan Markle’s upcoming May 19th wedding to Prince Harry, Will and Kate also welcomed their third beautiful child, Prince Louis, on April 23.

In typical royal fashion, we’ve had to wait to see what the little tyke really looks like following the few photos that were snapped when Will and Kate left the hospital. Well, the wait is finally over, as the palace released surprise photos of the babe to delight us all. Typically royal parents wait to share their kids’ first portraits until about a month after they’re born, so we weren’t expecting any official shots just yet. But as expected, Louis is freaking adorable.

There are two pictures to officially swoon over, both taken by Kate herself from the family home at Kensington Palace. The first is of Louis just hanging out at three days old in an adorable and cozy white sweater and pants, propped up on a frilly white pillow. He’s wide awake and showcasing some beautiful blue eyes (which of course can change colours in the weeks and months to come), and a bit of peach fuzz for hair that we just want to nuzzle.

Speaking of his hair, it’s a bit darker than big brother Prince George’s hair was when he was born, which could be an indication that Louis will look more like his mum and big sister, Princess Charlotte.

And now speaking of Princess Charlotte, she can be seen with her new baby bro in the second photo the palace released. This one was taken on May 2, which was also Charlotte’s third birthday. Much like a photograph that Kate snapped of her first two children when Charlotte was born, this picture showcases Charlotte leaning in to kiss baby Louis in what might be the most adorable pose ever.

“Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank members of the public for all of the kind messages they have received following the birth of Prince Louis, and for Princess Charlotte’s third birthday,” Kensington Palace announced.

Chalk another adorable win up for Will, Kate and their expanding family. While this clan is still shrouded in tradition, it’s casual photos like these that make them seem totally accessible. And that makes us love them even more.

So excuse us while we eat this baby goodness up, because we may not get any new photos until Louis’ official christening, which is expected to take place something this summer—possibly July.

Unless of course he makes a surprise appearance at the wedding. We can only hope!
