As more details emerge from Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ December wedding, we’re having an increasingly difficult time picking our favourite moment from the pair’s nuptials. There’s the extravagant setting at the Umaid Bhawan Palace, the melding of the couple’s cultures, and of course the gorgeous (and many) outfits. We know the royal wedding was the wedding of 2018, but Chopra and Jonas may have still set the new standard for fairytale weddings.
The couple spread their wedding celebration over five days, with a traditional Christian ceremony taking place at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in the city of Jodphur on Saturday. Jonas’ father Paul Kevin Jonas, who is a pastor, officiated the ceremony, which saw the bride and groom in custom Ralph Lauren.
Chopra and Jonas were first photographed together at the 2017 MET Gala, where they both wore Ralph Lauren, making the designer the perfect choice for their wedding attire. Ralph Lauren has previously only designed wedding gowns for family members. Again, it wasn’t the royal wedding, but it easily slides into second place for the biggest wedding of 2018.
Chopra’s gown included more than two million mother-of-pearl sequins, taking 1,826 hours to create. Added personal touches helped give the hand-embroidered dress a more sentimental feeling, with a piece of lace from Jonas’ mother’s dress sewn into Chopra’s gown. Eight embroidered messages were scattered throughout Chopra’s dress, including Jonas’ full name, the pair’s wedding date, Chopra’s parents’ names, a Hindi mantra, and the words ‘Family,’ ‘Hope,’ ‘Compassion’ and ‘Love.’ Jonas also had his own private message, with a piece of lace from Chopra’s dress sewn into his double-breasted black tux with the Urdu words for ‘My Life’ embroidered into it.

As for the 75-foot (yup!) veil, Chopra enlisted the help of five people to help carry the stunning piece down the aisle, which she walked down in custom Jimmy Choo heels. The gorgeous veil inspired some creative and hilarious memes, with social media reacting to the gown’s incredible length.

Not only did Chopra have the rare privilege of receiving a custom gown by Ralph Lauren, her wedding makeup was also exclusive, with the actor wearing more than $180 worth of Marc Jacobs products, some of which have yet to be released to the public. Chopra’s longtime makeup artist Yumi Mori, who also did Chopra’s makeup for her bridal shower, used Accomplice Instant Blurring Beauty Powder and Accomplice Concealer & Touch-Up Stick, with both products not available in stores until May. To complete Chopra’s natural and dewy look, Mori also used a coral hue from the Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Fantascene ($58), finished off with Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara ($33) and Le Marc Lip Crème Lipstick in Boy Gorgeous ($38) for a timeless berry red.
