Love is in the air
Another day, another milestone for Queen Elizabeth II. She and the Duke of Edinburgh have been married 70 years. Take that in: 70. Years. That’s a long time to be living, much less living in the same palace as someone. But Elizabeth and Philip look as in love as they did the day they exchanged vows in 1947.
To mark the 70th Wedding Anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, new photographic portraits have been released worldwide. The Queen and His Royal Highness will celebrate their Wedding Anniverary on 20th November 2017. The portraits, by British photographer Matt Holyoak of Camera Press, were taken in the White Drawing Room at Windsor Castle in early November. In this first release, The Queen and His Royal Highness are framed by Thomas Gainsborough’s 1781 portraits of George III and Queen Charlotte, who were married for 57 years. The marriage of the then Princess Elizabeth to Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten took place at Westminster Abbey on 20th November 1947. The portrait was taken in the White Drawing Room at their home of Windsor Castle in early November by British photographer Matt Holyoak. And because one picture wasn’t enough, the royals released three more gorgeous shots. This time, however, they posed against a platinum backdrop and managed to look even more stunning.
Congrats to the happy couple. Setting marriage goals since ’47.
Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian’s wedding was pretty perfect
Speaking of happy couples, Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian tied the knot in New Orleans and of course it was beautiful. The theme was Beauty and the Beast because Serena loves Disney movies, and while that could’ve been cheesy, it was anything but based on Vogue‘s pictures from the star-studded, most romantic wedding of the year. Sorry, Pippa.
But in case you don’t have time to go through all 54 pages of Vogue‘s slideshow (though it is encouraged viewing), Alexis posted loads of pics on his Instagram because he’s a good groom like that.
@serenawilliams: You are the greatest of all time, not just in sport–I’m talking about as a mother and as a wife. I am so excited to write so many more chapters of our fairy tale together. And my whole life I didn’t even realize it, but I was waiting for this moment. And everything that I have done, everything that I am so proud of in my career, and in my life, for the last 34 years, pales in comparison to what we’re doing today. And I am so grateful, and I am so in love. 📸 @melbarlowandco @allanzepedaphotography
A tale as old as time. Congrats to these beauties.
Jelena shared a smooch, they’re definitely back on
Things are heating up between Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, like it’s 2011 again.
Yep, it seems the former flames are flames once more, this time photographed kissing at Bieber’s weekly hockey game. Love yourself, love each other, keep this love alive.
James Corden joined the Backstreet Boys on stage
At the Backstreet Boys’ Vegas show on Friday night, a sixth member joined Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell and A.J. McLean during their residency show at Planet Hollywood: The Late Late Show host James Corden.
We all knew Corden could sing but the boy can dance as well, seamlessly stepping into their choreography.
Granted, this wasn’t the first time James joined the Backstreet Boys. They appeared on his show in September and he rocked it with them. We’d totally be fine if he joined the group full time, just saying.
Lena Dunham walks back defence of accused rapist friend, too little, too late
Let’s backtrack. After Girls writer Murray Miller was accused of sexually assaulting an actress when the woman was 17, Girls creators Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner came to his defence, with Lena adding this gem to the fire:
I believe in a lot of things but the first tenet of my politics is to hold up the people who have held me up, who have filled my world with love.
— 💎 Lena Dunham 💎 (@lenadunham) November 17, 2017
People were pissed since, up until then, she was all about supporting victims in this harrowing time.
— Asia Argento (@AsiaArgento) November 18, 2017
So since she’s queen of the take-backs, Dunham released a backpedaling apology because of all the criticism she’s been receiving.

Not enough, right? Especially since it doesn’t seem so much as an apology but more of a statement to save face. And if she wasn’t already cancelled, she most certainly is now.
She can add it to this list of tonedeaf apologies pic.twitter.com/kX2pgkNyAB

Yep, that’s about right. Maybe Lena should just stop talking. We can dream, right?
