When it comes to beauty fixes, we’re often looking for something quick that gets us looking exactly how we want to right away. While those miracles are possible with little cover-up techniques, we also need to address the underlying issues and that takes time. If you’re looking for solutions of varying commitment for common beauty problems, we’ve got you covered. Here are some beauty fixes that work in one day, one week and one month.

Enlarged Pores

  • One Day: Pore-Minimizing Primer
Use Smashbox Pore-Minimizing Primer before you put on your foundation to fill in and reduce the look of pores instantly. It’s rarely a good idea to “fill in” your pores, but if you need to look flawless today, this is the way to do it.
  • One Week: Detox Mask
The best way to shrink your pores is to clean them out. A charcoal detox mask, like this Life Brand one, is great because the charcoal naturally binds to the dirt that is making your pores stand out so much. You’ll see results within the week.
  • One Month: Facial Treatment
If you’re looking for professional help, you can get a series of skin treatments at a salon to minimize your pores and infuse your skin with nutrients. One option is the Q Max Facial which is three treatments that include microdermabrasion, vitamin infusion and a cold laser treatment.

Dry Brittle Nails

  • One Day: One-Step Polish
If you need a quick fix for your dry, brittle nails and want a pop of colour, Orly Breathable Nail Colour will clean your nails up while also allowing oxygen to get to them. Plus, it just takes one coat which means less stress on your nails when you have to remove it.
  • One Week: At-Home Gel Manicure
A good way to let your nails heal is to protect them from the elements with a gel manicure. The Sally Hansen Gel Polish Starter Kit helps you do your own manicure so you can skip the salon visit and save money. It comes with a little LED light and everything.
  • One Month: Biotin Multivitamin
The reason nails get so brittle is because acetone polish removers break down the biotin in your nails. Taking a multivitamin with biotin in it will — over time — make your nails stronger and healthier. It’s also great for healthy hair.

Thin eyebrows

  • One Day: At-Home Tint
If your eyebrows are looking a little bare, the best thing you can do for the moment is either fill them in yourself with a pencil or try out an at-home tinting kit like TattooStudio Waterproof Eyebrow Gel from Maybelline. This gel gives a natural look by augmenting the strands you already have and can last for up to two days.
  • One Week: Salon Brow-Tinting
When you have time to get an appointment, most salons that wax or thread eyebrows will also offer brow-tinting with plant-based vegetable dyes (you want a dye as natural as possible). Those treatments will tint your eyebrow hair as well as the skin underneath to make your brows look fuller and will last for a week to ten days (just be careful what you have planned for day 1 in case your tinting is a little too dark).
  • One Month: Hair Growth
If fuller brows are something you need, you can use a growth serum like the Province Apothecary Full-Brow Serum to actually encourage hair growth. Your fuller brows might take a while, but that’s why there are easy quick fixes out there too.
