Put on your oversized pink polo and start warming up the cheese fries and Toaster Strudels. A Mean Girls sequel could finally be on its way. In the most fetch news we’ve heard all week (or month, or year really), Rachel McAdams says she’s still ready to get the Plastics back together and film a Mean Girls sequel. Get in loser, we have a movie to make.On Saturday, McAdams appeared on a livestream for the Heroes of Health: COVID-19. Wearing a ‘Canadian Made’ sweater, the London, Ontario native was part of the charity event that helped raise $50,000 for the London Health Sciences Foundation. Making a personal $10,000 donation, McAdams appeared during the five-hour livestream just past the four-hour mark. Asked by radio DJ J Stevens whether there was a role she’d like to revisit, McAdams named her famous Queen Bee character. "It would be fun to play Regina George later in her life and see where life took her." Did Regina George just punch us in the face with the best news ever? It was awesome.[video_embed id='1941905']RELATED: Rachel McAdams is a hometown hero with this major quarantine donation[/video_embed]Asked by Stevens whether a Mean Girls sequel has ever been a discussion, McAdams replied “I think only in joking. Not quite seriously.” Too late, we’re already taking it seriously.  The limit does not exist in terms of our excitement level over the possibility of a Mean Girls sequel finally coming to fruition.McAdams’ comments may have only been in passing, but it’s not the first time the actor has voiced her desire to return to the Chicago suburbs (which were actually the Toronto suburbs). Speaking to E News in 2016, McAdams was asked whether she would be interested in a role in Tina Fey’s new Broadway production based on the 2004 cult classic teen film. "Sure," McAdams said. "I mean, I loved that movie. I love Tina Fey. I love the girls. I mean, to get to kind of have a reunion would be...we got to have a reunion at a photo shoot a couple of years ago and it was over like that and it wasn't enough. I was back in it."The Canadian actor’s recent comments surrounding the film come just days after co-star Lindsay Lohan reiterated that she too would be up for a sequel. Lohan has previously expressed interested in reprising her role as ‘homeschool jungle freak’ (Regina’s words, not ours) Cady Heron, and she addressed the idea again last week while appearing on Lights Out With David Spade. “I think I was hanging onto [Mean Girls] for a really long idea,” Lohan told Spade. “I wanted to come back with a Mean Girls 2 with the same cast, work with Tina, and the whole crew again, and [director] Mark Waters. That was really what I wanted. I was excited to do that. But that’s all in their hands, really.”Writer and star Tina Fey has continued to keep the Mean Girls universe going. After turning the film into a Tony-nominated Broadway play, the former SNL cast member is now working on a film version of the stage production. So, is there still an audience for Mean Girls? Duh.[video_embed id='-1']RELATED: Rachel McAdams' love for Canada runs deep[/video_embed]
