When Rebel Wilson first moved to the U.S. from Australia, she was a struggling comedian with no friends. Very quickly, things started to pick up for her when she landed Bridesmaids and then met her then-hairdresser-now-BFF Nicole Leal. Eight years later, the two are inseparable (Rebel even took her on the Pitch Perfect worldwide press tour), and Rebel wanted to show her gratitude to her bestie in the most Rebel way possible. Enter Canadian renovation powerhouses Drew and Jonathan Scott, aka The Property Brothers, armed with a jackhammer and a mission. Ladies and gentlemen, we give you Rebel with A Cause. On Monday night’s episode of Celebrity IOU (the same night as Nicole’s birthday no less!), Rebel explained to the home renovation twins why she needed their help transforming Nicole’s barren, concrete-wasteland of a backyard into an inviting, lush, green escape.“She's my first American friend ever,” she explained. “I just remember thinking, ‘Oh wow, this girl's really nice, just really chilled, normal compared to all the other crazies that walk around here.’ She's saved up all her money to buy this house and she has nothing left for the outside, and to give back to her in this way is just incredible.”

“She's so genuine and heartfelt and when she gives me advice, it’s from the heart and she doesn't have any vested interest in my career,” she continued.Greeting the renovation trio on her front lawn, Nicole was so surprised by the gesture that emotions quickly ran high. “She is more of family than a friend,” Nicole gushed. “Even as much stardom as she's gone through over the years, she's still the same person. Love her to pieces. I want to start crying right now, so I'm trying not to because she's awesome.”Aww, we really can feel the love between them! As Nicole left for a four-week trip, Rebel reveled in the birthday surprise. “I also love the fact we're surprising her and I like to be a little unassuming.”Yes, Rebel was incredibly unassuming when she entered Nicole’s backyard driving a four-wheeled jackhammer and proceeded to plow into a concrete slab, without really knowing what she’s doing. “Is this even legal?” she bellowed out to the brothers.

“I don’t even know!” Jonathan yelled back. Cut to the three of them having a jackhammer dance party heavily featuring the classic Robot dance. Siiick. After all the shenanigans and demolition, Nicole’s “prison yard” backyard was transformed into an outdoor dining space with a grill, a lounge with a TV, a fireplace, a greenspace with tropical plants and a mini pool with a fridge.  The end result is incredibly awe-inspiring. It's even better to know Nicole could enjoy her isolation birthday in a gorgeous backyard while California remains in strict lockdown.[video_embed id='1952830']RELATED: Michael Bublé teams up with the Property Brothers[/video_embed]This isn’t the first time Celebrity IOU has featured a moving and heartfelt reno for a celeb’s best friend. Recently, the one and only Brad Pitt teamed up with the Property Bros to renovate his makeup artist’s guesthouse, and even the Fight Club star got a little misty-eyed. They've also helped Michael Bublé surprise his grandparents'-caretaker-turned-family-friend and Viola Davis give back to her college roommate.[video_embed id='1777593']BEFORE YOU GO: The Property Brothers look back at some of their most hilarious moments on the show[/video_embed]
