After two years of being halves of one of the most beautiful couples in the world, pop singer Zayn Malik and model Gigi Hadid have called it quits. The 25 and 22-year-old began dating in November 2015 and quickly skyrocketed to becoming one of the biggest ‘It’ couples in Hollywood, with Hadid appearing in Malik’s music videos and the pair becoming a staple at fashion events.
On Tuesday, former One Direction member Malik posted a message on his Twitter account announcing the pair’s split, saying “Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and friend.”

Hadid kept things equally complimentary and classy, posting her own message on social and saying “I’m forever grateful for the love, time and life lessons that Z and I shared. I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for.”

As far as break ups go, this one sounds about as amicable as they get. At least so far. We’ll see how things progress when one party starts dating someone new.
Until then, in our time of mourning we’re consoling ourselves by remembering this magical time in our lives. Specifically, the period that we got to witness Zigi, the most genetically blessed coupling to ever roam the earth.
There was the time they posed together for Vogue and could have sold jackets to snowman.
Or the second time they posed for Vogue and made us realize their bedroom skills were much more advanced than ours.
There were their casual days that looked like a photo shoot.
Or their coffee runs that looked like a photo shoot.
Actually, any time they were together it looked like a photo shoot. Maybe we just need a leather jacket? Yeah, it’s probably more than that.
There was the time they binge watched the Matrix films and brought back the late 1990s.
And the time they binged watched 90210 and brought back the early 1990s.
There were their many fashion show appearances, which frankly were just unfair to the models.
Seriously, there are no unflattering photos of these two. We checked. It did terrible things to our self-esteem.
They even looked cool when coordinating their sunglasses. It’s such an uncool move, yet here’s photo evidence that it worked.
Don’t even get us started on their candid photos.
Are they using lighting straight from the clouds of heaven?
If the future involved robots that look like Zayn and Gigi, we’re okay with the planet being taken over.
RIP Zigi. You were too beautiful for this world.
