Who’s ready for the mane course?
A dead lion was found in a U.K. restaurant freezer right next to food meant for customers, according to the Midhurst and Petworth Observer. The shocking discovery was revealed by health protection manager Ian Brightmore, while he was outlining examples of some of the more bizarre objects found by environmental health officials.
Surprisingly, he refused to close or even name the restaurant.
But the owner reportedly said that he was given the animal by a local zoo to feed his dogs, and that it was never meant for human consumption. Brightmore noted that the establishment was located near a zoo and that the owner did indeed own several pack hounds.
But like…why not just buy some Kibbles ‘n Bits?
While we haven’t found reports of any lions being found in restaurant freezers in Canada, we certainly aren’t perfect here, either. An investigation by CTV found restaurants that were lacking potable water, had rat feces in the kitchen, and dead insects on the floor.
Now what can I get you for dessert?
