Maybe these two are more than just friends after all.

It seems like Rihanna and her longtime friend/collaborator A$AP Rocky may have taken things to the next level. Or at least someone seems pretty convinced that they have.

According to an unnamed source who spilled the beans to People, RiRi and A$AP are officially dating after spending a large amount of time together in 2020. The source confirmed the news to the publication after the pair were spotted out in New York over the weekend having dinner with friends at the Beatrice Inn.

This isn’t the first time rumours of the 32-year-olds dating have surfaced in 2020, mind you. Earlier this year, after Rihanna and billionaire Hassan Jameel broke things off after a nearly-three-year relationship, another source told the UK Sun that Rihanna and A$AP had shared a hotel room while in New York, but that she was “reluctant to put a label on it” so soon after her breakup.

“They’re really enjoying each other’s company and taking things easy as it’s still early days,” the source continued. “She’s a newly single girl having fun.” Later, reps from the “Diamonds” singer’s camp flat-out denied the Sun source, reminding people that she just got out of an intense relationship and that she and A$AP were just friends.

Romantically linked or not, there’s no denying that Rihanna and the “Praise the Lord” rapper have been friendly for years now—since at least 2013. Back then they were seen flirting together in New York, but at the time Rocky revealed that he doesn’t even “look at her like that. She’s sexy, but I’m good.” Over the years A$AP has been romantically linked to plenty of other high-profile women though, including Kylie Jenner, model Chanel Iman, Rita Ora and Iggy Azalea.

Over the summer Rihanna enlisted A$AP’s help with her Fenty Skin campaign, and at the time the pair did several joint interviews promoting the new line and collaboration. “I think the hardest part about working with you is not goofin’ off and laughing the whole time,” Rocky said to his friend (with benefits?) during a GQ interview. “Like this s— is comedy,” he added. “That's the hardest part. You know, people be so cool it's hard not to, not to laugh. That's all. But it was fun. The hardest part is not having too much fun. You just forget that it's still work at the end of the day.”

At time of press neither Rihanna nor A$AP (or anyone from their camps) have commented on the news. But considering everything else that has gone down in 2020, a new celeb relationship founded in friendship would definitely be considered a highlight. In that vein, potential congrats to the happy new couple.
