In the case of Rihanna’s Fenty line expanding into the lingerie market, we’re just shocked it hadn’t already happened. Name a time that Rihanna hasn’t been the sexiest celeb at an award show/fashion event/red carpet/coffee shop. Go ahead, we’ll wait.
Riri has already conquered the ultra-competitive makeup market with her Fenty Beauty line, which launched in September 2017. In one month alone, the beauty line reportedly made $72 million in sales. That’s a lot of lipstick. She’s also continued working in the fashion world, launching yet another collaboration with Puma this year, displaying some of her latest Fenty X Puma pieces earlier this month. Having now given her millions of fans worldwide both makeup and clothing options, it’s time for Rihanna to help out with what goes on under the tracksuit and also looks great with her Fenty Beauty Body Luminizer.
Rumors of Rihanna starting a lingerie line started back in March, but this weekend Riri confirmed the news on her social media pages.
While unclear at first what exactly Rihanna was promoting, she eventually made the announcement on Saturday.
When fans can expect to begin purchasing items from Savage X Fenty and where the line will be sold has yet to be made public, but like anything Rihanna touches, we’re pretty sure the lingerie line is going to blow up.
Like Fenty Beauty, which boasts 40 shades of foundation, it appears that Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty lingerie line will also be inclusive. Fans who have signed up to be on the Savage X Fenty mailing list can include their personal information, including their sizes. As it stands now, the new lingerie line will go from XS to 3X in underwear and 32A to 44DD in bra size. Of course, we’d love to see Savage X Fenty offer even more sizing options, but this is a great start for the line, especially when most celebrity-endorsed clothing lines typically offer a small window of sizes.
