Robert Pattinson and his jawline make their debut as Batman

There’s a new Batman in town and he’s here to save Gotham City, a place people inexplicably continue to live. Robert Pattinson made his debut as Bruce Wayne’s caped crusader this week, putting (officially) the world’s most handsome jawline to good use in the famous black mask. Pattinson is set to star in the latest iteration of the famous comic book series, titled simply The Batman. Consider us The Excited.Director Matt Reeves shared images and a camera test of Pattinson in his new Batman suit on Thursday, setting the reveal to dark and moody music and giving the clip a sexy red overtone. Cinematographer Greig Fraser filmed the short sequence and the film’s composer Michael Giacchino gave viewers a preview of the film’s upcoming ominous soundtrack.The Batman - Camera Test from Matt Reeves on Vimeo.Reeves has yet to reveal plot details from the film, which began shooting in London in January. Fans do know the big players who will be joining Pattinson in Gotham City and the cast is stacked. Reeves, who is best known for directing and co-writing 2017’s Planet of the Apes and 2008’s Cloverfield, has been dropping casting news on Twitter. Reeves teased Colin Farrell’s addition to the cast in January, hinting that the Irish actor will portray Oswald Cobblepot, a man who is also known as the Penguin. Taking on the coveted role of Selina Kyle aka Catwoman is Zoë Kravitz, following in the footsteps of Anne Hathaway, Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry. Peter Saarsgaard will join his partner Maggie Gyllenhaal in the Batman world as Gil Colson, the District Attorney of Gotham City. John Turturro will play mob boss Carmine Falcone, an enemy of vigilante Batman. Westworld star Jeffrey Wright will appear as Gotham City Police Chief James Gordon. Paul Dano is set to star as Edward Nashton, who is known in the Gotham City underworld as The Riddler, made famous by Jim Carrey in the 1995 flick Batman Forever. The A-list cast will be rounded out by Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Real and Andy Serkis, who will reunite with his Planet of the Apes director to take on the iconic role of Bruce Wayne’s trusted housekeeper Alfred.
